IP（INTERNATIONAL PROTECTION）draft out by IEC（INTERNATIONAL ELECTROTECHNICAL COMMISSION）

Graded by water prevent and dust prevent for the lighting products.
IP index buildup by two numbers ，the first number express the degree of lighting prevent dust and other things ，
the second number express the degree of lighting prevent water and aquosity.
the number is higher, means the IP degree is higher.

The meaning of the first number:

0 no defend from outside.

1 prevent over 50mm solid products intrude.

2 prevent over 12mm solid products and finger intrude.

3 prevent over 2.5mm solid products intrude, prevent  diameter or thickness over 2.5mm tool , wire or similar things intrude
   the parts of the lights.

4 prevent over 1.0mm solid products intrude,  prevent  diameter or thickness over 1.0mm tool , wire or similar things intrude
   the parts of the lights.

5 dust prevent,  prevent all things intrude，although can't 100% prevent dust, but intruded dust will not effect the normal work
of the lights.

6 dust prevent,  prevent all things intrude, 100% prevent dust.

The second number meaning:

0 no defend from outside.

1 Prevent vertical water drop intrude.

2 slant 15 angle also can prevent water drop intrude, the drop will not effect the lights.

3 Prevent insufflation and rain，also can prevent water drop intrude from 60 angle slant.

4 Prevent splash water intrude,  prevent all angle splash water.

5 Prevent belch water of all angle.

6 Prevent billow intrude , mainly for the lights which fixed on the board.

7 Prevent water, or the lights under of water for some time or water pressure under some standard, the lights will not damage.

8 Prevent  intrude of sink,  unlimited time underwater in the stated water pressure, the lights will not damage.
